Some businesses start with a business plan. Ours started with a bull elk bugling at dawn somewhere in Arizona's White Mountains.
Back in 2011, Brian and Deanna Cronin took a leap that most people only talk about — they turned a lifelong obsession with archery into something real. Not a side hustle. Not a hobby shop. A full-blown, field-tested, family-run archery pro shop built by people who actually live this stuff.
Fourteen years later, Timber Mesa Outdoors operates two locations — one in Mesa serving the Valley, and one in Show Low at the doorstep of the White Mountains — with 29 climate-controlled lanes between them, a full-service pro shop, leagues, lessons, and a community of archers that keeps growing.
But the gear and the lanes aren't what make this place different. The people behind the counter are.
We Shoot What We Sell

Here's the thing about Brian and Deanna: they're not just running a business. They're out there. Brian's chasing whitetails and dialing in tournament setups on the same bows sitting on the shop wall. Deanna has hunted African plains game — including kudu — with the same equipment you can walk in and buy today.
Every product on our shelves has been field-tested by someone on our team. When we recommend a stabilizer setup, a broadhead, or a release aid, it's because we've put it through its paces — on the range and in the field. That's a promise we've kept since day one.
"The products we sell are the same products we use in the field, whether it be chasing the buck of a lifetime or shooting for a spot on the podium."
From One Shop to Two

The Mesa location at 952 E Baseline Rd. was the beginning — a place where Valley archers could get real expertise without the big-box runaround. Word spread. The lanes filled up. The community grew.
Then came Show Low. At 1190 E. Huning St., the second location put a proper pro shop right where Arizona's best hunting happens. Same standards, same passion, same commitment to doing it right. Whether you're tuning up before elk season or picking up your first bow, both shops deliver the same experience.
More Than a Pro Shop

What started as an equipment shop evolved into something bigger. Today, Timber Mesa is a hub for Arizona's archery community:
- Leagues that run year-round — from our Vegas Warm Up series to the Lucky Dog Handicap League, where every shooter has a real shot at winning
- Lessons for every level — our Discover Archery intro gets beginners on target in an hour, while private coaching with USA Archery certified instructors sharpens competitive form
- Team Timber JOAD — a Junior Olympic Archery Development program getting the next generation into the sport the right way
- Corporate and group events that are way more memorable than another escape room
We're authorized dealers for Mathews, Hoyt, PSE, Bowtech, Prime, Elite, and Ravin — and our techs know these bows inside and out because they shoot them too.
What's Next
Fifteen years in, we're not slowing down. This blog is one more way we're staying connected with the archery community — expect tips from the field, gear breakdowns, hunting stories, league recaps, and behind-the-scenes looks at what's happening at both shops.
Whether you've been shooting with us since 2011 or you're thinking about picking up a bow for the first time, the door is always open.
Come see us. We'll get you dialed in.
